EUROPEAN SOUND DELTA est à la fois une radio éphémère, une résidence de création artistique itinérante et un festival nomade qui se déroulera durant l’été 2008.

Une trentaine d'artistes européens se succéderont sur deux navires-laboratoires qui remonteront le Rhin et le Danube depuis leurs embouchures jusqu’à Strasbourg (F) où une exposition-événement de clôture est prévue fin septembre 2008.

Le thème général du projet : « exploration sonore des territoires traversés». Au fil du Danube et du Rhin, le projet fera étape dans une vingtaine de ville et une douzaine de pays où plusieurs événements sont envisagés.

Coordonné par le Collectif MU (Paris-F) en collaboration avec Rokolectiv (Bucarest-RO) et SCAS (Sofia - BG), le projet bénéficie du soutien du Programme Culture de l’Union Européenne.

EUROPEAN SOUND DELTA recherche des projets de performance, d’installation ou de création radiophonique réalisés à partir de field-recordings dans le cadre d’une résidence pouvant aller d’une semaine à deux mois sur l’une ou l’autre des péniches. Cet appel s’adresse à des artistes dont la démarche est liée à l’une de ces différentes pratiques de l’art sonore.

Des moyens techniques seront mis à disposition à bord : radio, accès web et matériel de prise de son. Les frais de résidence (restauration, hébergement et déplacements) et la rémunération du travail artistique seront pris en charge en fonction de la durée du séjour et de la nature du projet. Celle-ci pourra être couverte par un soutien financier spécifique (de type Institut Culturel) selon la nationalité du candidat retenu.

Le travail réalisé en résidence sera présenté pendant les événements-étapes et/ou lors de l’exposition de clôture à Strasbourg. Il pourra aussi faire l’objet d’une diffusion en direct ou en podcasting sur la radio éphémère du projet. EUROPEAN SOUND DELTA RESIDENCIES

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION


EUROPEAN SOUND DELTA comprises an ephemeral radio, a touring art residency and a nomadic festival that will take place during Summer 2008.

About thirty European artists will take turns on two Studio-boats navigating upstream on the Rhine and Danube rivers from their estuaries and towards Strasbourg (F). There, a closing event/exhibition has been planned in September 2008.

The general theme of the project is: “sound exploration of crossed territories”. During the project, the boats will mark several stops on the banks of the Rhine and Danube rivers, in about twenty town and cities and a dozen countries where several public events have been scheduled.

Coordinated by the Collectif MU (Paris-F), in collaboration with Rokolectiv (Bucarest-RO) and SCAS (Sofia - BG), the project is currently supported by the Culture Programme of the European Union.



EUROPEAN SOUND DELTA is now looking for projects including performances, installations or radio creations made from field-recordings as part of a residency lasting from one week to two months on either boats. This call is meant for artists whose practice is linked to one of the various forms of sound art.

A whole range of technical equipment will be available on board: radio, web facilities and sound recording devices. The cost of the residency (food, lodging and travelling expenses) plus a fee for the artistic production will be covered, according to the duration of the stay and the nature of the project. Depending on the nationality of the chosen candidate(s), this cost can be partially subsided via a specific support scheme (from bodies like Foreign Cultural representations). The work produced during the residency will be publicly presented during the boat-call events and/or during the closing show in Strasbourg. A live or podcasted broadcast of the work is also likely to take place via the ephemeral and project-specific radio.
