JOKE – CALL-OUT.

Otto-Prod is a french association created in 2006 and located in Paris. The basic idea is both to create a research and artistic production times and to set artistic events in European Union, and so to allow some artists to comprehend the European dimension and its new contextualization. This is why the association leads “La Vitrine Project” in Maribor (Slovenia).

La Vitrine is a long-term european and international project which has started in september 2006. It’s designed to developp exchanges and work productions in european contemporary art practices. The association runs both a show-room where a monthly exhibition is set and a 450m2 space gallery, Hladilnica.

Within the framework of La Vitrine Project, Otto-prod will organize a new group exhibition named JOKE. The exhibition will happen from the 18th of April till’ the 9th of May. Please note that a big “fluo” finishing-party will be set on the 9th of may (Dj’s and performers).

The exhibition JOKE will be presented as part as the “French-Slovene Spring”.

This exhibition’s theme is joke, which means the works presented will have to scoff at their subject humorously and/or ironically.

The pieces’ selection criteria are incongruous, accessibility and originality.

The exhibition will gather a selection of 15 international artists’ works.

The exhibition will take place in Hladilnica Gallery which is a big-space art gallery (450m2). The artists invited may also work in the adjoining fully-equipped studio (70m2).
